Impressionism Tour at Denver Art Museum
Happy 150th Birthday, Impressionism!
Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibition with a visit to the Denver Art Museum’s “19th Century in European and American Art” galleries on April 23rd, from 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Learn how a loose-knit group of independent artists, including Renoir, Monet, Pissarro, Degas, Morisot, and others banded together on April 15th, 1874, in a photographer’s studio in downtown Paris to show art that upended the rules governing art-making. Investigate what was so offensive about their paintings that made people mock and ridicule them. Join Giulia Bernardini, art historian and founder of art travel company Wonderfeast, to wish Impressionism a TRÈS JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE!
Space limited to 15 participants; entrance tickets $15 per person. Option to join Giulia and the Alliance Française Director, Rebecca Boyd for drinks and/or food afterward at the Denver Art Museum’s Ponti restaurant.
