Placement Tests

AFD is now offering Ev@lang placement tests!

Ev@Lang is a placement test designed by France Education International, the agency which administers DELF/DALF and TCF exams. While this test does not provide a certification it is helpful in determining what level a student currently performs at in listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and grammar.

Why Ev@lang?

  • Reliable-created by experts
  • Fast-maximum 35 minutes
  • Adaptive-Questions adjust based on your previous answers
  • And best of all-you can  take it on your computer, at your pace

How to take Ev@lang with AF Denver?

  1. Purchase the test below. The test is $20. If you register for a class within 30 days of your placement test purchase, that $20 willl be credited to your registration fee.
  2. You will receive a code with instructions within 24 business hours.
  3. After completing the test, you will get a report with your level; you can use this to guide your course sign-up

*Please note, the instructions for the test are in French. If you feel that you cannot understand French instructions, you would likely fit best in an A1.1-A1.3-level class. Each A1 level class includes a description of what students should be able to do to enter that class.

Do I need a Speaking assessment?

Ev@lang is a very reliable test, so most students will not need a speaking exam. If your score between an A2- and a B1+, and feel that your speaking skills are significantly different than your score, a speaking assessment may be a helpful addition. You will be able to schedule a speaking assessment when you receive your placement test code.
