world’s largest cultural network with over 800 chapters in 132 countries, serving over 500,000 students.
The Alliance Française organization has 107 locations in the United States alone, which makes it the largest network of
Alliances Françaises in the world, is serving 24,000 students (more than 48,000 enrolled) annually.
Our Denver branch, the Alliance Française de Denver (AFD) was founded in 1897 and is one of the oldest
non-profit organizations in the Denver-Metro area. It is also the only wholly French language, culture, and resource center in
Colorado. As part of this world-wide effort, the AFD is proud to promote the integration of diverse cultures within the
Denver community.
OUR BENEFITS
The Alliance Française de Denver offers continued learning both in and out of the classroom, through a variety of
cultural and social events, to more than 1500 members as well as to the general public.
AFD‘s events include lectures, art exhibits, film showcases, wine tastings, traditional celebrations, and cooking
classes. We provide convenient language classes throughout the year, either during the day or in the evening, or on weekends. All classes
are taught by native or fluent French speakers. Additional resources are also available free of charge to our members.
Finally, the AFD’s library is home to over 5,500 books, films and audio materials to aid in the learning process both linguistically and
culturally.
